  • You have given your explicit consent for us to do so

The processing of your data is required in order to safeguard legitimate interests and there is no reason to believe that you have a legitimate and overriding interest in your data not being passed on

Collection of general information during visits to our website

When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically using a cookie. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser and operating system being used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and other similar information. The collected information is exclusively information that cannot be traced back to you.

This information is necessary for technical reasons in order to correctly deliver the website content you have requested, and is mandatory when using the Internet. It is processed for the following purposes in particular:

  • Guaranteeing a smooth connection to the website
  • Guaranteeing the smooth use of our website
  • Analysing system security and stability
  • Further administrative purposes

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interests arising from the specified data-collection purposes. We will not use your data to draw conclusions regarding you as an individual. The data will only ever be received by the controller and possibly also the processor.

Anonymous information of this type may be statistically evaluated by us in order to optimise our Internet presence and the underlying technology.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transmitted from a website server to your hard drive. They automatically provide us with certain data such as your IP address, the browser and operating system you are using, as well as your Internet connection.

Cookies cannot be used to start programs or to transmit viruses to a computer. We can use the information contained in cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our websites and to make sure that the content is displayed correctly.

The data we collect will never be passed on to third parties and a link to your personal data will never be established without your consent.

You can of course also access our website without cookies. Internet browsers are routinely set up to accept cookies. In general, you can deactivate the use of cookies at any time by changing your browser settings. Please use your Internet browser’s help function to check how to change these settings. Please note that certain functions of our website may not function correctly if you have deactivated the use of cookies.

SSL encryption

We use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS in order to ensure the security of your data during data transmission.

Contact form/email

If you contact us with questions of any kind via email or the contact form, you are giving us your voluntary consent to get in contact with you. In order for us to do so, you will need to provide a valid email address. This will be used to assign your enquiry and to provide you with a response. The provision of any additional data is optional. The information you provide will be saved for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for potential follow-up questions. Once your enquiry has been resolved, your personal data will be automatically erased.

Use of Matomo

This website uses Matomo (formerly Piwik), an open source software application for the statistical analysis of visitor access. Matomo uses "cookies"; text files that are stored on your computer and that enable your use of the website to be analysed.

The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of the Internet site is saved on a server in Germany.

The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before it is saved. You can prevent the installation of cookies by changing the relevant setting in your browser software. We would like to point out that if this setting is changed, some functions of this website may no longer be available.

You can decide whether you wish for an unambiguous web analytics cookie to be stored in your browser in order to allow the website operator to collect and analyse various statistical data.

Use of script libraries (Google Webfonts)

In order to ensure that our content is displayed correctly and with appealing graphics on all browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries on this website such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts is transferred to your browser’s cache in order to prevent it loading up multiple times. If your browser does not support Google Webfonts or is blocking access, content will be displayed in a standard font.

Accessing script libraries or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the library operator. It is therefore theoretically possible that data could be collected by the operators of the libraries in question.

The privacy policy for the library operator Google can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Embedded YouTube videos

Our websites feature embedded YouTube videos. The operator of the associated plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a site with the YouTube plugin, a connection will be established to the YouTube servers. This means that YouTube will receive information regarding which sites you are visiting. If you are signed in to your YouTube account, YouTube will be able to attribute your browsing behaviour to you as an individual. You can prevent this by signing out of your YouTube account before accessing the website.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about usage behaviour.

If the saving of cookies for the Google-Ad program has been deactivated, these cookies will also not be used when watching YouTube videos. However, YouTube does store non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you wish to prevent this, you will need to block the saving of cookies in your browser.

Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s data policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Petition/appeal

In addition to the usage data that is processed when the Holzmarkt website is accessed, we also collect the following data as part of the petition “Für den Erhalt der letzten kreativen Freiräume in Berlin!” [petition to save Berlin’s last remaining creative spaces]: Your surname and first name, country of origin and email address are required in order to ensure that you are a real person. If you do not provide this information, you will not be able to sign the petition.

The data is used as long as necessary for the purpose of the petition and until all associated obligations of proof have been met.

This personal data is processed for the purpose of making a joint statement to the administration and politicians and to give a voice to the demand to “fight together for a Berlin that stays different”; petitioner information is therefore saved for verification purposes. The number of co-signatories is calculated based on the number of entered datasets.

The personal data that you enter when signing the petition will be processed based on our legitimate interests in the correct implementation of our petition and in providing proof that you have signed the petition.

The legal foundation for data processing is Art. 6, Para. 1f) of the GDPR.

Mailing list/subscription to the mailing list within the framework of the petition

Emails containing promotional content or information regarding further actions within the framework of the petition will only be sent with the explicit consent of the website visitor. The website visitor can object to the receipt of emails and its inclusion in the mailing list at any time. Each email also contains an opt-out option. Before any mass emails are sent, the owner of the email address will receive a confirmation email asking him or her to confirm his or her subscription to the mailing list. Unconfirmed subscriptions will be deleted automatically within four weeks at the latest.

When a website visitor subscribes to the mailing list, we save the time of subscription and the time of confirmation, as well as the website visitor’s IP address. We are legally obliged to keep a record of subscriptions in order to verify that subscription is being performed correctly.

We will save your email address and consent until you withdraw your consent.

Share buttons

If share buttons for Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp have been integrated for the petition, no personal data will be transmitted if users do not click on these buttons. The implementation of the Shariff safe sharing tool means that personal data (IP address) will only be transmitted when the website visitor presses these buttons.

If these social media platform services are accessed by clicking on the buttons, personal data will be processed by the relevant platform operator.

When these social media services are accessed, cookies will usually be stored in your browser by the platform operator. Your usage behaviour or interests will be saved in these cookies for market-research and advertising purposes.

The platform operators use the usage profiles that are created in order to display personalised advertising.

However, the data processing – which may also take place outside the EU – may also affect persons who are not registered as users on the particular social media platform.

For the transfer of your data to the USA, the social media platforms concerned are subject to the US-EU Privacy Shield agreement (https://www.privacyshield.gov), which obligates the operators to comply with the data protection standards of the GDPR.

The personal data that is collected when accessing the social media services will be processed based on our legitimate interests in the diverse public image of our association and the use of an effective source of information as well as in communicating with you. The legal foundation for this is Art. 6, Para. 1f of the GDPR. If you have given a platform operator your consent for data processing, the legal foundation in this case will be Art. 6, Para. 1a of the GDPR.

Further detailed information on data processing in connection with the use of social media services, objection (opt-out) options and the assertion of disclosure rights can be found in the data privacy statements of the corresponding platform operator.

Use of myfonts.com

The font on this website is integrated via MyFonts.  MyFonts is a service provided by the company Monotype Imaging Holdings Inc., 600 Unicorn Park Drive, Woburn, Massachusetts 01801 USA. This service provides fonts that are displayed in the user’s web browser following a server call to MyFonts (in the USA). During this process, at least the IP address of the browser on the website user’s end device is transmitted to the myfonts.com server. This information is transmitted so that MyFonts can check the font licensing. MyFonts is used in the interests of a uniform and appealing display of our online content. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6, Para. 1f of the GDPR. Further information can be found in the privacy policy statement of MyFont, which can be accessed at the following link: https://www.monotype.com/legal/privacy-policy/ .
