Maximizing Impact: Urban Infill Lessons from Holzmarkt

The world’s most significant sustainable design prize, the Holcim Foundation Awards, will explore the city-enhancing effects of well-executed urban infill projects in Berlin and beyond at this lively panel discussion event during our Berlin edition of the Holcim Foundation Awards Talks.

With the conversation anchored to Haus 2+ - a new mixed-use, sustainable development built onto an old industrial site in Holzmarkt by Office ParkScheerbarth - architects and industry experts will unpack how buildings and initiatives of this nature can create a significantly positive urban impact with a low-carbon footprint.

As a best-in-practice urban infill example, Haus 2+, which received a Holcim Foundation Award in 2023, shows how community-driven development and socially engaging design can be woven into the urban fabric to improve our neighborhoods in clever and unexpected ways. It will be one of the multiple industry-leading projects discussed at the event.
